Durban South Africa
The South African Joomla! community is pleased to invite you to the first Durban Joomla! Day South Africa event on May 9 and 10, at Varsity College, Durban North.
Joomla! Day is a great opportunity to learn, network with other Joomla! users and developers, and to discover ways you can contribute to the uptake of Joomla! in South Africa.
Joomla! is an award-winning free open source content management system enabling webmasters and amateurs alike to build and administer feature-rich, powerful web sites without having to have an extensive knowledge of web programming languages. Joomla! is broadly deployed worldwide with more than 3.5 million downloads. In its first two months, the latest release (Joomla! 1.5) has already been downloaded over 200,000 times.
There are nearly 3000 extensions to the system, covering virtually every feature one might need on a site.
There are also thousands of free and commercial templates.
The support forum is extremely active, with 180,000 members and over 1.2 million posts!
Joomla! Days are well attended worldwide. A key benefit of attendance is the opportunity to connect with hundreds of members of the Joomla! community, speakers, Joomla! developers, and members of the Joomla! Southern African Portal.
There will be ample opportunity for networking. The South African Joomla! community has been hard at work to ensure the 2008 Joomla! Day events are both informative and fun as they eagerly look forward to another year of successful conferences, following three events which were run in 2007.
