Thursday, 26 January 2006

Jeomap Framework component released (stable 1.0.0 version)Joomlagoon has just released its first downloadable version of the project. Jeomap Framework component allows for fast and easy Geo-mapping (GoogleMaps and Google Earth) and Joomla Content integration.

Although this first shot is only suitable for "static" applications, the framework will evolve by means of extensions to more  dynamic features using AJAX and XML/RPC asynchronous data generation.

Also, it aims to integrate most of the major existing components in order to achieve maximum customization of what is displayed in the maps.

Here is the current features list (and limitations):

Projects

  • Only admin can produce and manage projects
  • Handles multiples projects (application maps)
  • Automatic Joomla Categories linked to Jeomap Projects: users can gain acess to Maps either from a Menu link to the com and projectId, or by viewing Joomla Category (link to map)

  • Selectable folder group per point. Point will inherit  icon from the folder default icon
  • Points removal and re-ordering

 Admin and User interface:
