Autism Awareness Event Chooses Joomla! PDF Print E-mail
Wednesday, 19 March 2008

The 2008 Autism CARE Walk is proud to announce the launch of their new website. Joomla! and other open source code have allowed the Autism CARE Walk to implement a system that traditionally would have cost thousands of dollars. Users can raise money for autism awareness by registering for the walk 'in person' or as a 'virtual walker.' Once users have registered, they are invited to create their own personal fundraising pages. Each user can set a fundraising goal and invite their friends and family to visit their profile to make a pledge. AutismCareWalk.org facilitates the 'friends asking friends' method of donations, which makes fundraising easy and effective.

Users who register for their own personal fundraising page can even customize their own URL. View and contribute to a personal fundraising page by visiting http://www.autismcarewalk.org/tylerpatterson

Register as a virtual walker today and help raise money for autism awareness! CARE stands for Community of Autism Resources and Education and any funds generated from the event will help benefit children who are on the autism spectrum through workshops and programs offered by Heartspring, a worldwide center for children with special needs.
