Joomla Bibtex Component 1.1b released PDF Print E-mail
Sunday, 11 February 2007

An update to the Joomla Bibtex bibliography component has been released, details are on the Joomla extensions directory website: http://extensions.joomla.org/component/option,com_mtree/task,viewlink/link_id,1766/Itemid,35/

This bibtex component for Joomla allows you to create a bibliography for your site by importing bibtex references either by pasting the text for any number of references or even by selecting a bibtex .bib file to load the entire file.  References can then be removed from the backend and viewed at the frontend in a well integrated Joomla style.

The frontend allows re-ordering of references as well as filtering by both author and title.  Categories of references can be defined, and the menu item parameters allows the category to be displayed at the front end to be chosen.  If no category is selected, all are shown in the front end.  A url can be assigned to each reference which shows up as a link by the title at the front end.  This url is automatically extracted from the bibtex string, even if it is not in the url tag.  A link at the bottom of the from end page generates the full bibtex string for all the references returned by the filter.
