Born and raised in Munich Alex is working as a corporate consultant today. One of this working fields is the usage of Open Source Solutions, concepts and techniques within todays corporate processes. As a developer he joined the Mambo/Joomla core/development team in 2004 and was working as events and communications lead recently. Andrew Eddie is the owner of a small web consultancy based near Toowoomba, Australia and co-owner of the product solutions company JXtended which makes several free and commercial extensions for Joomla. While originally a civil engineer, he moved into the web application development field in 2000. Andrew has been involved in the open source software movement in professional, volunteer and leadership capacities since 2002. His most notable contributions have been with the project management system dotProject, the award winning content management system Mambo and currently with the award winning content management system Joomla, a project he co-founded. He has made minor contributions to other respected open source projects such as phpDocumentor and Phing.

Originally a youth worker dealing with severely disturbed youngsters Brian was involved in publishing some of the largest multimedia CD-ROMS of the late 90's. He was born in 1965 and now lives in France. He is currently an assistant professor of computer sciences at the University of La Rochelle (France, Europe). He passed his MA in 1989 and his Ph.D. in 1992. Influenced by the practice of judo from early childhood, he has endeavoured to apply one of its principles in the service of the free software community "Best use of energy and mutual welfare" (Jigoro Kano).
He created or improved several extensions for Joomla:
- HtmlMap Manager to use the map/area HTML tag couple linked to menu items
- Authentication Manager to use external authentication systems such as Centralized Authentication Server
- Localise to create new languages and translate strings for Joomla 1.6
- MediaWiki to share one mediawiki engine in several wikis for Joomla 1.6
He also contributed to Joomla's documentation (Hello World J!1.6 and Developing a Model-View-Controller Component for Joomla 1.6). Last, but not least, he now collaborates on the development of Joomla 1.6.

Emir was born in Sarajevo, capital of Bosnia and Herzegovina. He became interested in electronics and computers very early programming C64 and Atari. His interest in electronics and software drove him to a MSc degree in Electrical Engineering. He discovered Mambo and joined the project in its early days in 2002. Ian joined the Joomla Project shortly after startup in 2005 and volunteered to work with the Developer Documentation project. Since then, he has become more involved with the project and has served in various roles, including GSoC mentor and administrator, developer documentation team leader, Joomla Bug Squad coordinator and Development Working Group Member.

Jean-Marie was born a long time ago in France. He received a very classic education and got married a few times. Former news reporter from 1969 to 1985, wearing multiple hats (NHK TV, Gamma, freelance for many magazines), he focused on post-colonial conflicts (Africa, Middle-East, Central America) as well as social conflicts in Europe.
He moved to Sonoma, California (1985-1992) and worked there as an advertising photographer, specialising in the Wine industry. He got addicted to an Apple IIC in the mid-eighties and started computer designing, as well as beta-testing. He now owns a one-man Computer Graphic and Web Design in France.

At the age of 10, Johan began programming very simple games on his Commodore 64 and the first x86 a few years later. Later on he learned himself to program in C/C++ and PHP. Although Ken first discovered Mambo in 2003, he did not start using it extensively until early 2005. His resume includes Omaha.com, BIGSHOT, Hallmark.com, and Sprint. Kenneth resides in Omaha, Nebraska, with his wife, Michelle, and two wonderful children, Ryland and Korina.

Levis is an analyst-programmer (B.Sc.A.). After many years in the job market, Levis decided to go the Laval University to study computer programming in 1997. Matt Lipscomb is a designer and developer focusing completely on the Joomla CMS. Hailing from Gadsden, Alabama, Matt's former background is hotel development and management with a focus in online reservation systems. Since 2006 he has been building commercial websites based on the Joomla platform and in 2008 opened up Joomla Web Design by USAFL.
Matt manages the Joomla Extensions Directory and co-manages the Joomla Resources Directory. He has served the Joomla community through his work on the Community Site Showcase and the Joomla Community Magazine as well as assists in many other areas of the official sites and directories.

Michelle Bisson is one of the founding members of Joomla. Prior to that, she was invited onto the Mambo Core Team in early 2004 after having been active in the Mambo community since mid-2003.
She partners with Levis Bisson in a Web development company, Jazzisoft International Inc., which specializes in custom programming for the Quebec government and developing Joomla based sites for the municipal government, businesses, and non-profits. Their company is also known as POPcliQ in Quebec, Canada. They speak fluent English and French and have started to offer their services internationally.
Her involvement in the past was coordinating the User Documentation Team. Currently, she is leading the Fundraising Team, representing Joomla at various events and involved in organizing Joomla events in Canada.

He joined Joomla at the project birth in 2005 and voluntered to help moderate the International forums and became local Danish Translation Coordinator. Was invited to help build the Joomla! Omar is currently the webmaster at Imperial Valley College (IVC) in Southern California. In that role he's used Joomla as the primary platform for developing web applications for the college tying in disparate systems such as Sungard Banner and Microsoft Active Directory into the college's web presence. Currently, he is working on migrating the college's main website to Joomla from its commercial CMS system and finishing up his second year of teaching part-time for the college. Rey's Open Source involvement started with Mambo while at Uni in mid 2003 while looking for something to run a Sports Assoc site. Ric, 30, of Kent, United Kingdom, is an IT manager and discovered Mambo in 2003 while looking for a corporate CMS. He now spends his time coding Open Source systems for companies that don't have large IT budgets. He says he is constantly in search of elegant solutions to coding problems, lives in the Object Orientated camp of coding and loves a good framework, Joomla! being his framework of choice. This comes from his corporate Java background which was soon dropped when PHP5 hit the servers. Apart from computers, he's worked as an illustrator designing collectibles such as Noddy and Thunderbirds and in the film and television industry as a CGI artist on several Hollywood projects and a handful of low budget satellite channels.
